09/19 - 09/21 Leland Heritage Day Celebration & Exhibition
This is the Leelanau Community Cultural Center’s fifth year of participating in the Heritage Celebration with a historic exhibit at the Old Art Building. This year’s exhibit, "Leland Landmarks: Past is Present" is in collaboration with the Leland Chamber of Commerce, and is open to the public at no cost.
Friday, September 19 - Students from area schools will be invited to preview the exhibit.
Saturday, September 20 – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday, September 21 – 12:00 – 4:00 pm.
This exhibit represents the history of landmark buildings in Leland that were built prior to WWII and are currently a commercial business. Leland Landmarks: Past is Present will feature historic photographs and written text to highlight each building’s history. Early and recent paintings will provide a visual display of these landmarks.
Other events on Saturday, September 20 are the Leelanau Historical Museum's "Wooden Boats on the Wall", Van's Garage antique car show, a presentation by the Leelanau Conservancy on the Village Green, music and festivities in Fishtown and a historic cruise on the Manitou Island Transit.
